KOTA SAMARAHAN - 9 Dec: After the college election on the 11th of November we now had the opportunity to witness new leadership teams leading Cempaka College. As of the 8th of December, 3.00 p.m., Cempaka College will be led by our new president Parameswari A/P Ramu. The event of appointment was held at Cempaka’s Activity Room with all the new college representatives. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students Affairs and Alumni), Professor Dr. Hj. Kamarudin bin Kana along with the College Principal Mohd Hafizan bin Hashim as well as the Fellows of Cempaka College were involved in the appointment event.
The event continued with the college representative introducing themselves as well as their portfolio to Professor Dr. Hj. Kamarudin bin Kana. Parameswari then presented several events to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Some of the events were Christmas day celebration and Sports day. The discussion went smoothly with some suggestions of improvement made by the principal of Cempaka College. Around 3.20 p.m., the Deputy Vice-Chancellor presented the letters of appointment to the college representative as a symbol of the responsibilities that will be carried out by Cempaka’s College representatives.
Professor Dr. Hj. Kamarudin bin Kana then took the chance to express his fondness for Cempaka College and his pride in Cempaka. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also aims to create a conducive environment for the students residing in Cempaka as it will be their second home for quite some time. Therefore, a conducive environment is necessary. He also took the chance to advise the college representatives to manage their time wisely between their academic obligations and their commitment towards college. Finally, his advice towards the college representative was to work hand in hand with tolerance and tremendous devotion.
Before the event ends at 4.00 p.m., a short photography session was held with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, College Principal, Fellows of Cempaka and the new college representatives. The day ended with a feast to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
